Programme:

          In an effort to grow further and for the knowledge enrichment of working professionals, the institute introduced part-time MBA programme in the year 1997. The Part Time MBA is designed specifically to enhance the careers of working business professionals, managers and executives. The programme is geared towards professionals who are looking to update the general management skills and prepare themselves for career advancement opportunities.

Duration of the Programme:

           The three-year part time programme - Master of Business Administration is a six semester programme affiliated to Bharathiar University and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The total mandatory credits to be earned by a student to qualify for MBA degree is 90. The total marks to be earned by the student will be out of 2800. This programme is typically completed during the weekends over a three year period.

Curriculum:

          There are 17 major courses spread throughout the programme. Elective courses are offered to the students to specialize in different fields. The department provides a range of electives to enable he students to have a wider knowledge base in functional and sectoral areas. The students will have to undergo eight elective courses. Elective papers are offered in functional areas and sectoral areas. In the functional area, four streams are offered viz., marketing, HR, finance and systems. In the sectoral area three streams are offered viz., investment banking, banking and insurance and retail marketing.

Pedagogy:

          What really sets the part time MBA apart from many other MBA programs is the level of experience and insights that students bring to the program. In this programme students' professional experience and expertise becomes an integral part of the curriculum. This truly offers a level of education not obtained in any other setting.
